CK1 - Belfast

1. Annual fund-raising for the Macmillan Cancer Care raised £2900 in 2005 and £840 in 2006.

2. Provided Liturgical Music Tapes for St, Patrick's Church, Donegall Street, Belfast.

3. Contribution of £81.21 for the Miracle of Sight organisation.

4. Contribution to Ann Marie McClean, of SUAS for use in an orphanage in India.

5. Printed and supplied 2000 prayer books for use of the students in St. Malachy's College, Belfast.

6. Contribution to the Laptop project for the Bishop's Conference

Centre in Maynooth.

7. Some members involved in hospital visitation,

8. Currently investigating the installation of a 'loop system' in the O'Neill Centre.

9. Several other projects being discussed.

10. Monthly Quiz Night in the O'Neill Centre provides social entertainment, funds for the Council and support for the Columban Club.

Members of the Council regularly support the functions and activities of all other Councils in Area 2.

At least 7 members attend the Adult Faith Development talks in St. Malachy's College.

Most members of the Council support the annual Order pilgrimages to Knock and Ballyvoy and attend the Stated Annual Meeting each year. The also support the Northern Area Committee meetings and Annual Dinner.

The Council provides members for all the other committees in the Order viz.

Current Supreme Knight, 3 members on the Provincial Executive,

Secretary of KSC Trust No. 1 Ltd.,

Secretary of the Northern Area Committee, Chairman and members of the

Columban Club Committee.

Membership of the Provincial Development Committee.

Recruitment is foremost on the agenda of the Council providing 1 new member in 2005, 1 new member in 2006 and 1 Knight elect currently awaiting the next Reception Ceremony.
