LURGAN

The Council meets in St. Peter's Parocial House, Lurgan on the first Tuesday of the month at 7.30 pm

The following activities were undertaken in 2005

Radio Housebound:  Installation of 8 transmitters in several parishes with approx. 1,000 handsets distributed.

Rosary project:  Distribution of 1,000 Rosary beads and booklets to P7 school leavers and 16+ school leavers.

Zambia project: Fundraising of £1,100 for school meals in the Ndola region of Zambia and antiviral injections to AIDS parients in the same area.

Coin Collection: Collection of pre-Euro coins for fundraising purposes.

Cemetery Project: Redevelopment of St. Colman's Cemetery. Provision of new pathways, new fencing, car park facilities, Reflection area and overall upkeep of the area.

2006 PROJECTS

Radio Housebound: Expansion to all of the Diocese and adjoining Diocese.

Rosary Project:  Expansion to all schools in the Area and assisting in other areas in Provincial Area 3.

Cemetery Project: Ongoing

Zambia Project: Continuation to provide at least £600 per year.

Golf Classic: September 2006, Fundraising Golf match in Lurgan.

Parish Newsletter: Development of Bi-Annual Newsletter for St. Pual's and St. Peter's parish.

Parish website: Development of joint parish website for St. Peter's and St. Paul's Churches.

Spectacle collection: Collection of old/unused glasses for use in under-developed countries.

Charity Concert: Fundraising parish concert.

Information pack: Development of an information pack to assist all Primary Councils in Area 3 with fundraising events and projects.
