Supreme Chaplain

It gives the Order of the Knights of Saint Columbanus great pleasure in announcing that on Friday last, His Excellency, Archbishop Michael Neary, agreed to the appointment of Fr. Brendan Kilcoyne PP as the new Supreme Chaplain to our Order.

Fr Brendan is a Priest within the Archdiocese of Tuam and is a Parish Priest of Athenry Co. Galway. He is a prolific and passionate speaker who is internationally renowned for his direct and honest preaching. As well as having served in various roles in parish ministry, he has served as both Tuam Diocesan Secretary and President of St. Jarlath’s College Tuam.

He is a co-founder of ‘Immaculata Productions‘, a content production company specialising in podcasts, video blogs and inspirational video content relating to Faith. He also hosts the very popular ‘Brendan Option’, which broadcasts twice a week. This popular podcast, which gives profound insight into Fr. Brendan’s own faith journey, has racked up over 1,500 hours of watch time since the start of April alone.

His vision for Church and how the lay apostolate can invest in protecting and developing the Faith is an excellent fit for our Order. His strategic vision in communicating that Faith is in perfect harmony with the direction in which our Order is moving.Our Supreme Knight Brendan McCann is most grateful to Fr. Brendan for accepting the appointment, and we all wish him well as he takes up his new role as Chaplain of our Order.
