The book
De Montfort wrote his Treatise on True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin in about 1712. The manuscript lay unknown for more than a century after his death, until it was found in 1842 at Saint-Laurent-sur-Sèvre, and it was published in 1843. Its teaching is the consecration of oneself to Jesus through Mary.
