Young People Find Language for their Faith

Great day in the Carlton Hotel. 

St. Dominics', Belfast won the All Ireland Final with Assumption Grammar School second. All the young people were inspirational and a joy to listen to. A huge congratulations to both teams and well done to all the schools from across Ireland who took part in this excellent competition.

This years All Ireland Final of the Public speaking Competition was held in the Carlton Hotel, Dublin Airport at 2.00pm on Saturday 29th March.

Abbey Community College, Boyle - Abbey Community School students Mia, George, Ciara and Clara with their mentor Mrs M Moynihan.

Abbey Community School addressed the Cardinal Parolin’s quotation in June 2024 “The only means capable of achieving true, stable, and just peace is dialogue between all parties involved”

Summerhill College, Sligo - Students from Summerhill College, Sligo with their mentor Ms A Fagan

The students addressed the topic “Human trafficking disfigures dignity. Exploitation and subjugation limit freedom and turn people into objects to use and discard” a quotation from Pope Francis on World Day of Prayer and reflection against Human Trafficking.

Castlerea Community School - Castlerea Community School represented by Oisin, Lusy, Jodha, and Katie. The team mentors are Ms A Daly and Mr S O Hara.

St Cuan’s College, Castleblaney - The college was represented by Odhran, Oisin, Patrick and Lucas. The team mentor was Ms E Burke.

Students from St Cuan’s College Castleblaney .They addressed a quotation from Carlo Acutis “Happiness is looking towards God, Sadness is looking towards yourself.”
