Aims and Objectives

The Order of the Knights of St Columbanus is a Catholic fraternal organisation founded in Ireland in 1915 to promote and defend the faith, support the Church, and serve society in accordance with the principles of the Gospel. Inspired by the missionary zeal and spiritual legacy of St Columbanus, the Order seeks to empower Catholic laymen to live out their faith actively through charity, unity, and public witness.

The aims and objectives of the Order include:

  • To Promote Catholic Values: Strengthening the moral and spiritual life of members, families, and communities through faith-based action and prayerful witness.

  • To Serve the Common Good: Supporting charitable initiatives, social justice, and community development, especially among the vulnerable and marginalised.

  • To Foster Fraternity and Unity: Encouraging fellowship among Catholic men and cultivating leadership rooted in Christian service.

  • To Defend and Support the Church: Upholding the teachings of the Catholic Church and supporting its mission in public life, education, and culture.

  • To Witness to Faith in Public Life: Engaging in civic life as informed and faithful Catholics, promoting truth, justice, and the dignity of every person.

Through these aims, the Order continues its mission of living the Gospel in word and action, contributing to the renewal of both Church and society.
