Ely House, Dublin
Welcome to Ely House, one of the finest original Georgian Dublin houses. First built in 1771 by Henry Loftus, Earl of Ely, and now owned by the Order of the Knights of St Columbanus since 1923. A variety of seven rooms are available for hire at competitive rates. Each room is unique, with Italian plaster and stucco work dating back to the original build.
Room Hire Service
The Order provides several rooms to hire to the general public. These rooms vary in size but create the perfect background and atmosphere for business meetings, lectures, small conferences and promotional events.
Set in a beautiful Grade One listed Dublin Georgian house in the heart of Dublin City, the house offers a wide variety of meeting rooms decorated in the original 1771 Georgian style.
Each room has access to wireless internet connect.

These rooms can be hired on a half-day or full-day basis.

A fully functioning kitchen is available on request.
The Stafford Johnston Room
GROUND FLOOR
Situated on the ground floor with views of Hume Street and St Stephens Green. A beautiful room decorated with original Stucco plaster walls and Carrera and Sienna marble fireplace from the 1770's. Like all the rooms, it can be configured to the clients needs, catering for approximately 40-50 people seated in dining style. Perfect for meetings or formal dining.

The O'Neill Suite
GROUND FLOOR
The O'Neill Suite on the ground floor is a more recent addition to the house. It can comfortable hold 50-60 people in classroom style with access through the smaller welcome room, perfect for registration and welcome. This room can be reconfigured to suit the needs of the client. The room has a raised stage/platform, perfect for conference style meetings.

The Pillar Room
FIRST FLOOR
Once used as a small theatre in the 1800's the Pillar Room is a perfect room for meetings and presentations, seating approximately 40-50.
Decorated in the original stucco plaster walls it creates a perfect environment for your business needs.

FIRST FLOOR
The Board Room, again decorated in the original Georgian stucco plaster work, is perfect for small or large meetings. The room can be configured to suit the clients needs with additional furniture available.
Catering for approximately 60-70 seated classroom style or board room style for 25 people.

BASEMENT FLOOR
The Library is the perfect venue for small meetings. Recently updated it has all the comfort of a luxury hotel. With a vaulted ceiling this snug is set in the basement area of the house, it offers a very comfortable venue for business meetings, away from the busy office environment.
It has access to a small kitchen area for tea and coffee.

Accessibility

Due to the Grade One listing of Ely House there is no lift available.
​
Toilet facilities are available in the basement along with a disabled toilet on the ground floor.
​
There is a step up at the entrance to Ely House with a ramp available for wheelchair access, if requested.

When booking for an event that requires disabled access please ensure that you book the rooms available on the ground floor.
