Brothers from CK32 Drogheda, with the Supreme Knight, Bro. John Murphy, have presented an honour award to Eddie Caffrey of LMFM Radio, in recognition of his service to the community of the North East.
Sunday, every Sunday
Eddie Caffrey has broadcast Mass every Sunday for many years.
It is the kind of service that is easy to overlook precisely because it is so regular. For those who cannot get to their parish, the housebound and the ill among them, that broadcast is not a substitute for Sunday. It is Sunday, and it has been for a long time.
The presentation
The award was made in the presence of the Brothers of CK32 Drogheda, who came in regalia, with the council banner behind the table.
The Order marks work of this kind because somebody should. A man who has kept a weekly commitment for years does not usually expect to be thanked for it, and that is precisely the reason to do so.
