Each month the Holy Father asks the whole Church to pray for one intention. For November 2026, Pope Leo XIV asks for prayer for the proper use of wealth: that, without giving way to selfishness, it be put at the service of the common good and of solidarity with those who have less.
Unum Omnes, the international council of Catholic men, has passed on the month's prayer and material from the Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network, and the Supreme Knight has asked that it go up for every member of the Order.
The World Day of the Poor
The intention is tied to the World Day of the Poor, which the Church keeps for the tenth time on Sunday 15 November. Pope Leo's message for the day takes its title from Psalm 14: “The Lord is the refuge of the poor”. He asks believers to examine their consciences, to listen to the poor rather than only speak about them, as St Francis of Assisi did, and to make the Church a refuge for them. The Network puts the month's prayer in a few words of its own: by sharing, we build the future.
The Holy Father's message for the World Day of the Poor is on the Vatican's website.
Pray with the Pope
The Holy Father asks the faithful to pray for this intention through the month. His prayer, and the film in which he says it, are on the Network's site: Pray with the Pope.
For councils and parishes, the Network's tool kit carries the prayer, the official images and a poster.
